The Guernsey County Jail is a full-service, minimum to maximum security facility located in Cambridge, Ohio. The jail houses inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor or felony offenses. All inmates in the jail are either awaiting trial, serving their sentence, or awaiting transport to state or federal prison.The facility has a recommended capacity of 66 inmates, which includes 54 males and 12 females. The average daily population is 104 inmates with approximately 64% felons and 36% misdemeanors. The jail is staffed by a jail administrator, shift corporals, and 17 corrections professionals. How to Send Mail and Package
Inmates are allowed to receive mail from their friends and family members. Starting in August of 2021 the jail will no longer accept mail sent directly to the jail. Mail must be sent to a 3rd party location. Once the mail arrives at the location, it will be digitally scanned and distributed to inmates.

Funds can be added to an inmate’s commissary account onsite or over the phone. To add funds to an account onsite visit the kiosk located in the front lobby of the Sheriff’s Office. To add funds to an account over the phone, call 1-888-277-2535. The number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Visitation Hours
Inmates are allowed to visit with their friends and family while incarcerated. All visits take place through a video monitoring system. Visits can occur on site or remotely. Visits must be scheduled in advance.
Onsite Visitation:
Sundays: 1 pm to 3 pm
Wednesdays: 6 pm to 8 pm
Remote Visitation:
Daily from 8 am to 11:30 am
The Guernsey County Jail has a public inmate roster. The roster lists all inmates currently incarcerated in the jail in alphabetical order. The inmate’s name, identifying features, mugshot, charges and bond amount will be listed on the roster.
The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office has a most wanted list. The list is available to the public. The fugitive’s name, mugshot, identifying features and the reason they are wanted is made available on the list.
