The Portsmouth Police Department is a law enforcement agency located in Scioto County, Ohio. All persons arrested by the Portsmouth Police Department are transported to the Scioto County Jail. The Scioto County Jail is a full-service, minimum to maximum security facility located in Portsmouth, Ohio. The jail houses female and male adult offenders who have been arrested and charged with misdemeanor or felony offenses.
Inmates are encouraged to visit with their friends and family members while they are incarcerated. Visitation must be scheduled in advance. Visitation days and times are based on where they are housed within the jail.
