All persons arrested by the Urbana Police Department are transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail. Champaign County utilizes the Tri-County Regional Jail. The Tri-County Regional Jail is a minimum to maximum security facility. The jail houses inmates who have been charged with and arrested for misdemeanor or felony crimes. All inmates housed in the jail are currently awaiting trial, serving their sentence or awaiting transfer to state prison. Inmates housed in the facility can be viewed on the public jail roster.

Visitors can use an onsite video recording terminal or use their smartphone or laptop from home. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
