All persons arrested by the Shelby Police Department are transported to the Richland County Jail. The Richland County Jail is a minimum to maximum security facility located in Mansfield, Ohio. The jail houses female and male adult offenders who have been arrested and charged with misdemeanor or felony offenses. All inmates are either serving their sentence, awaiting trial or awaiting transfer to a state of federal prison. The facility has a capacity of 266 inmates.
