All persons arrested by the Sandusky Police Department are transported to the Erie County Jail. The Erie County Jail is a medium to maximum security facility located in Sandusky, Ohio. All inmates are either serving out their sentence, awaiting trial, awaiting transfer to a state prison or awaiting transfer to the state or county in which they are wanted. Visitation can be off site from the comfort of the visitor’s home or onsite using a kiosk located in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office. Inmate’s are allowed 1 hour of off site visitation daily and 1 hour of onsite visitation weekly.
