The Ashtabula County Jail is a minimum to maximum security facility located in Jefferson, Ohio. The jail was opened in November of 1978 and consists of 5 floors with a medical clinic, nurse’s station, recreation area, kitchen and laundry area. The jail has a current capacity of 169 inmates. How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are allowed to receive letters, cards, photographs and soft back books from friends and family. All books must be sent directly from a distributor such as Amazon. All mail will be opened and checked for contraband, but mail will not be read unless there is reason to believe that the contents contain information about criminal activities.

Funds can be deposited into an inmate’s account in person, over the phone or online. To make a deposit in person, visit the kiosk in the jail booking office. The kiosk accepts cash, credit and debit cards. Funds can be added over the phone by calling 866-345-1884. The Ashtabula County Jail uses a 3rd party provider for depositing money into an inmate’s account online. Funds can be added online by visiting the Access Corrections website.

Visitation Hours

Inmates are allowed to receive 2 thirty minute visits per week. Visits are on a first come first served basis. Visitation days and times are based on where the inmate is housed within the jail.

Monday:
5th floor from 9 am to 11 am and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Tuesday:
4th floor from 9 am to 11 am and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Wednesday:
3rd floor from 9 am to 11 am and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Thursday:
1st and 2nd floor from 9 am to 11 am and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Saturday:
All male visits from 9 am to 11 am, 1 pm to 3 pm and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Sunday:
All female visits from 9 am to 11 am, 1 pm to 3 pm and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm
