The Crawford County Jail is a minimum to maximum security facility located in Bucyrus, Ohio. The jail houses adult inmates who have been arrested for misdemeanor or felony offenses. Inmates are either serving out their sentence, awaiting trial, awaiting transfer to a state prison or waiting to be expedited to the county or state that the fugitive is wanted in. The facility has a capacity of 121 inmates and is staffed with 30 full-time correctional officers. The jail offers various programs such as AA meetings, GED classes, church services, anger management, mental health counseling and recreation. The jail is responsible for releasing inmate mugshots and arrest information to the public.

Inmates are allowed to receive letters from friends and family. If there is any discoloration on the envelope or paper, the letter will not be delivered. All mail is opened and searched for contraband.

Visitation Hours

Inmates are allowed to receive visits from their friends and family members. Visiting hours and days are based on where the inmate is housed within the jail. The inmate is responsible for releasing current visitation times to their expected visitors.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for releasing incident, traffic accident, arrest and offense reports to the public. Record requests must be submitted in person during normal business hours. The location and date of the incident is needed when submitting a request.
