The Butler County Jail is a minimum to maximum security facility located in Hamilton, Ohio. The jail is made up of 3 buildings. The main jail facility has a capacity of 848 inmates. This facility houses maximum and medium security inmates, as well as contracted inmates from the United States Marshals Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Bureau of Prisons. The Resolutions Jail and Court Street Jail buildings house overflow inmates from the main jail facility. The jail books approximately 14,000 inmates annually. All bookings and releases take place at the main jail facility.

How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates are allowed to receive mail and packages from their friends and family. All mail will be searched for contraband before being released to the inmate. Legal materials and clothing for court appearances can be sent through the mail. If there is no contraband found in the mail, it will be distributed to the inmate within 24 hours.

Funds can be added to an inmate’s account online, in person or over the phone. To make a deposit online, visit the Access Corrections website. Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards are accepted online. To make a deposit in person, visit the kiosk located in the main jail facility’s lobby. Visa, Mastercard and cash is accepted. Visitation Hours
Inmates are allowed to receive 1 thirty minute visit per week. Inmates can add up to 3 people on their visitation list. All visitation is through video recording.

The Butler County Jail has a public inmate roster to view who is incarcerated. The roster is updated hourly. The inmates are listed in alphabetical order. The inmate’s name, identifying features, mugshot, charges and bond amount will be listed.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office has a most wanted list. The list is made up of the 15 most dangerous fugitives from the county. The list shows the fugitive’s name, mugshot and crime they are wanted for.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office has a Central Records Unit. The unit is responsible for releasing public records such as incident and traffic accident reports. Requests can be made in person or by mail. When requesting a copy through mail, a self-addressed stamped envelope must be included.
