Persons arrested within Marion County are housed in the Multi-County Correctional Center, located in Marion, Ohio. The Multi-County Correctional Center is used by the Marion County and Hardin County Sheriff’s Offices. The facility houses inmates who have been arrested for misdemeanor and felony crimes. The inmates are awaiting trial, serving out their sentence, awaiting transport to state prison or awaiting expedition to the state or county they were wanted in. The jail provides different programs to the inmates such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, domestic violence and anger management classes and adult education classes. The jail employs 40 correctional officers, 6 sergeants, 4 lieutenants, one captain and 10 full-time support personnel.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are allowed to receive letters and cards from their friends and family members. All mail is scanned and digitally uploaded to the SmartJailMail system. Photographs can only be sent through the SmartJailMail system. An account can be made on the SmartJailMail website or phone app.

Visitation Hours

Inmates are encouraged to visit with their friends and family members while they are incarcerated. Each inmate is allowed 1 thirty minute visit per week. Visitation must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Visits can be scheduled by calling the jail.
