The Monroe County Jail is a full-service, minimum to maximum security facility located in Woodsfield, Ohio. The jail houses adult offenders who have been arrested and charged with misdemeanor or felony offenses. All inmates are either serving their sentence, awaiting trial or awaiting transfer to a state of federal prison. The facility has a bed-capacity of 114. Of the 114 beds, 30 are designated for females. The jail offers inmate programs such as Drug and Alcohol Counseling, medical services, recreational activities and work assignments. How To Send Mail and Package
Inmates are allowed to receive letters from their friends and family members. All letters must be written in pen, pencil or typed. No more than 10 pictures per envelope will be accepted. All mail will be opened and searched for contraband.

Funds can be added to an inmate’s account onsite, over the phone or online. To add funds onsite, visit the kiosk located in the Sheriff’s Office lobby. The kiosk accepts cash, credit or debit cards. Visitation Hours
Inmates are encouraged to visit with their friends and family members while incarcerated. All visits will be conducted via a video monitoring system. Inmates are allowed 1 thirty minute visit per week. A maximum of 3 visitors per visit is allowed. The jail uses a 3rd party provider called ICSolutions to schedule visits. An account must be made on their website. Once an account is made, available visitation days and times will be available.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for releasing traffic accident, offense and incident reports. Record requests must be submitted in writing. A record request can be submitted in person, by mail or email.
